RAPS is the only tool on the market today that measures satisfaction with what patients state are their priorities in a statistically reliable manner. Containing only eight questions, RAPS is an on-going and quick measure of patient satisfaction that tracks trends.
We developed RAPS because we needed to measure what patients say is important to them and because we required rigorous statistical validation for performance-based rewards/penalties. Additionally, we wanted an on-going, immediate tool which is a better indicator of performance than a snapshot in time as delivered by periodic review questionnaires.
A 2010 analysis by McKinsey & Company has shown that soft skills and outcomes are very strongly correlated. The same study showed that access is less well correlated with outcomes than GP “soft skills” such as listening.
A Canadian study shows that patients who feel strongly attached to their GP practice cost significantly less than those who do not.
The standard error of measurement delivered by RAPS, at 5% makes the results largely error-free and importantly it delivers Physician-level reliability at 30 responses for “high-stakes” attributes and 10 for less important ones.
Results are accessed via our website which analyses results and reports them in summary and granular formats.
